  Among the many things as self-employed worker I have inserted for ATECO codes, the main activity interested me more at the level of analysis and professional development.  It’s about organization and management not only for that I have built as visual artist, but also and expecially for the important step towards consultancy to third parts.  Among the many analysis in these years of self-employed worker I retain of particularly importance the expenses of starting activity and the expenses of management of the activity.  The expenses and the management aren’t indifferent and they are essential to understand the probabilities to hold not only the national market but also and expecially the global market.  It’s a way to evaluate the possible earnings commensurate to the management in the time and to evaluate the feasibility of self-employed work. Architecture of place: journey in the covered markets

 


In architecture there are many projects that they prove interesting solutions either as architectonic structures with their stylistic characteristics or as urban presence aimed to redevelop or regenerate neighborhoods. 

As consequence, the redevelopment of portions of the city makes the neighborhoods become attractive centers where it’s the projectal operation, not only of social type but also of tourist type. 

For this post I have choosen two itineraries for two covered markets. 

These markets are taken in consideration not only for architectural operation but also for urban context. 

 


If you are in Barcelona you could take in consideration the idea to visit the Santa Caterina Market of Miralles Tagliabue EMBT. 

The architectural operation is known to architects for the forms and the structure but it attracts also other persons of other sectors for the particularity of the roof visible also from satellite maps. 

The structure is made of metal and wood with an ondulate roof made with a mosaic of ceramic coloured  as vegetables. 

It’s interesting the integration with residential buildings in the opposite front of the main access street the market in addition to the urban context where the market is situated. 

 


If you are in Rotterdam you could visit Markthal of MVRDV in the center of the city. 

The Markthal is known to be a residential building that it incorporates the market in the centre where on the ceiling there is the artwork “Cornucopia” of the artists Coenen and Roskam that it represents vegetables, fruits and insects. 

It’s well connected from the urban point of view and there are in the neighborhood other residential buildings known from architectural point of view in addition to be interesting for the urban context. 

 


In both the cases we can note two markets not as we are accustomed to view in the major of the our cities. 

They are extremely coloured so much so to make people forget to be in a market and the same can be said of the urban context where it’s possible to find other places to visit and to enjoy.

  I begin again to write after a long time of silence and after I have kept at a safe distance the world of writing.
