In their development, the arts as the thinking are always influenced from the society that it generated them but the architecture and the urban planning for the fact to be lived space had mainly felt the importance.
The architecture isn’t a pure representation, neither of the society or less for the aesthetical tendency of the moment, but it used of the representation to be comprised, in the interpretation that it does of the necessity of the society to which belongs. It isn’t the assembly of the image used to sell a product, but it uses the images to be coded from audience either it is the client or it is the user. It is an aggregated interpretation of the spaces, paths and functions, connected among them to generate volumes and forms, not finalized to themself, but in a complex draw of colours, lights and shades.
In the architectonic critic there isn’t so a further interpretation, it hasn’t sense. It must be analytical opinion on how the designer had to operate keeping in consideration the social and cultural needs of the moment, it cannot so limit to list the choises of designer, from technical to aesthetic choises, without to tell how the design in the complex is in symbiotic armony with contemporary. The critic must represent the perceived point of the visitor of work, that it examines on the realized and constructed modality, it takes a curious look as investigating the spaciousness, the forms and the colours.
The architecture cannot be defined beautiful or bad without to have the coherence to propone a term of comparison, a term of comparison isn’t the common sense of aesthetic maybe it will more right say if an architecture is successful or not successful to be an architectonic work.
To talk about project often take to identify it with the designer, it will be more logic to talk of design operation because it will take attention on the complex of operation and not on the work itself, that also it is signed by a sonorous name not always it results a valid operation. A plan and a prospect willl not have sense if they will not view as an aggregated optics of volumes, a building will not have sense separately, but only in the complexity of the place which accepts it.
To do critics on an architecture of the past results certainly more simple of the current one, the architectures of the past often were realized on axes and symmetries, today, the architecture is inclined to dissolve the axial and symmetric address proposing an interlacement of axes and the a-symmetry as language, but the core of the architectonic question is always the same: the space and its perception in the terms of fruition and aesthetic-visual impact.
The difficult to decode the current architectonic often has to translate the architectures in terms more technical, or on the opposite poetical, without talk of what is the connexion of the architecture with the human, the society and the enviroment.
The projectal choises aren’t only a choises dictated from technicalities but have afference with the own culture of the designer, and as the culture in each of us increases and changes our thinking in a path of maturity, also for the designer the evolution is a continuous cycle of autocritics, revision and recostruction of its architecture, it translates what the society demands for its dayly life from the needs more common to that more cultured in a path of personal maturity and of the maturation of the society.
The history, the technologies, the eviroment, to be a human, the society in which it lives and the rules that they do it a civil society, articulate not only the process of maturation of human thinking but also its connection with the architecture and urban planning, and this the designer, but also the critic, cannot forget.
The architecture is interaction and integration of a building with the place in which it was realized; it is interaction and integration of human with the building, and of human with the enviroment; it is interaction and integration of individual with the society; when all of this there isn’t the interest cannot moved to the technique and to the aestheticism that if also are not interesting it does the architecture an art to end in itself and to whom has designed. All the more so a designer is capable make interact an artwork with everything else, all the more so it will consider the artwork been successful.
If the same problem then is placed in a urban scale, more ample of the single design operation, we notice it as often all more so is disregarded, so that, there isn’t to surprise that the human isn’t able to re-appropriate of the places in which it lives and it fells alien.
